October Luncheon at Genoa Lakes Resort Course

Our October Luncheon was a huge success, with over 60 members in attendance this was by far our most popular luncheon event of the fall season. Many members turned out to hear the Candidates for Douglas County Commissioners provide a 5 minute overview of their campaign for County Commissioner in Douglas County.

Joyce's Fine Jewely was our Business of the Month and provided as always wonderful raffle items that were raffled off throughout the luncheon.

A huge thanks to Marie and her Staff at Genoa Lakes Resort Course for the wonderful luncheon, all the Candidates for County Commission for their time and to all the Ambassadors and Members that were able to attend the luncheon.

We look forward to seeing you all at this year's Annual Gala and Community Awards Celebration on November 13th, 2010 at Genoa Lakes Golf Resort "Antoci's"

New Faces at the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority

The Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce welcomes Mindy Klick and Alicia Main to the staff. Mindy has taken over as Visitors Authority Marketing, Communications and Events Manager, supervising the efforts on the Visitors Authority side of things and Alicia has taken over for Sheila Byington as Chamber Manager, in charge of events and membership recruitment and services. Chamber Celebrates Sheila Byington's Retirement

On August 11th, 2010 the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority wished Sheila Byington well on her retirement. Friends and Co-workers gathered at The Tahoe Ridge Winery, Marketplace and Bistro for cake and wine to celebrate a woman that was the heart of things at the Chamber of Commerce. Sheila now gets to enjoy time traveling and spoiling her many grandchildren. Awarded with a Lifetime Membership we made sure Sheila will always remain part of the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Authority.

Hot August Nights Poker Run returns to Minden Park

On the beautiful sun filled day of August 5th, 2010 Minden Park was the Official Lunch Stop for the Hot August Nights Poker Run. With over 900 registered vintage cars scheduled to visit the Carson Valley this provided visitors and residents the chance to see the vintage cars of Hot August Nights without the crowds. It was a step back in time as the vintage cars lined the streets around Minden Park and along Esmeralda Avenue. With 50's, 60's and 70's music provided by McClain's Mobile Music and DJ Service and variety of food provided by our local restaurants and service clubs the day was complete for both visitors and participants of Hot August Nights.
